Fr. Mike Perucho and Fr. Peter Saucedo serve as Vocation Directors for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The Vocation Office Coordinates Archdiocesan efforts to recruit and assess candidates to serve the Church in the future as priests or religious; provides resources for the promotion and discernment of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Fr. Michael Mesa, a native of Southern California, had originally hoped to pursue a career in medicine. However, after graduating from USC with a degree in biology, and with hopes of applying to medical school, everything changed when he began to grow in his faith. Through deepening prayer and relationship with the Lord, the thought of priesthood began to grow in his heart. After a few years of prayer and discernment, he entered St. John’s Seminary in 2013 and after seven amazing years at St. John’s, he was ordained to the Priesthood in August of 2020.
Holy Family Glendale is his first parish assignment, where he is currently assigned as an associate pastor. At Holy Family, he strives to serve as a bridge connecting people to the love of Jesus Christ. On a personal level he enjoys nature, the ‘outdoors’, hiking, running, cooking and spending time with friends.

This Virtual Lesson that took place during National Vocation Awareness Week in November will allow students to hear directly from a priest and religious sister who will teach a lesson with activities that will allow the student to learn that God has a plan for them and provide them with ways of discovering that plan. The lesson will also focus on the life of the priest and religious and how they discovered their vocation in service to God and the Church.
